8th Fighter Wing Public Affairs
2/19/2008 - KUNSAN AIR BASE, South Korea -- More than 1,800 Wolf Pack members are eligible to wear the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.
The 8th Fighter Wing was awarded the 2007 AFOUA for the period of Oct. 1, 2005 through Sept. 30, 2007.
According to the award citation, the 8th FW distinguished itself by exceptional meritorious service. During the award period, the 8th FW accomplished its mission with a maximum degree of readiness.
Major Thomas Angelo 8th Mission Support Squadron commander said 1,804 current Wolf Pack members are eligible to wear this award.
"No member action is required for updates," he said. "Once we receive the official decoration orders, the MPF (Military Personnel Flight) will do a batch update with AFPC (Air Force Personnel Center)."
Major Angelo said once the update has gone through, base officials will send out a message so that individuals can check their records. He also said Airmen who are on their way to their next base are covered by the MPF here if the update consummates before they sign in to their new base.
"Those eligible who have already PCS'd need to visit their local MPF and show eligibility," he said.
