Sydney (AFP) - A complex international operation to free a Russian ship trapped in Antarctica ended Wednesday when the vessel cleared the ice field, as officials released a United States icebreaker from the rescue.

Whoever the reporter from the AFP must be a non-Asian person. First, thePolar Star has not even done anything to rescue either of the icebreakers. Thereporter made it sound like the Polar Star has done a great deal to both ship.The Chinese Xue Long alone rescued 50+ scientists from the Russian ship byferrying them with a helicopter to a safe ship. The Xue Long then was trappedby the ice and was able to free itself from the trap. The reporter mentionedthe Xue Long at the end, thus giving the minimum credit to the Chinese rescue.This is a complete biased way of writing the story. AFP should either fire thisreporter or have the reporter apologize to the Chinese scientists. Why anapology to the Chinese scientists is necessary? The reporter either didn't knowthe whole story and wrote some garbage or intentional belittle the Chinese. TheChinese scientists had to take the risk of abandoning their scientific programsand took the responsibility to rescue the Russian ship. By reading the article,the latter may probably be more to the truth. To the AFP editor, don't thinkthat your readers are morons. Most of us here are highly educated andintelligence second to none of your staff.
