China's stealth fighter makes its maiden test flight
BEIJING: China's radder evasive stealth fighter made its maiden test flight on Tuesday, making the country only the second nation after US to test such cutting edge technology.
The aircraft called J-20 took off from an airstrip at Chengdu Aircraft Design Institute just before 1300 hours and flew for about 20 minutes, the Wall Street Journal reported quoting eye witnesses. The test flight came as US Defence Secretary Robert Gates started the second day of his official visit to the country and was scheduled to meet President Hu Jintao. Gates has been dismissive of the Chinese arms build up and has said that development of stealth technology by China poses no threat to Washington.
Images and witness accounts were posted online of the twin engine plane making its epic maiden flight and on the ground surrounded by men in army overcoats, the paper said, adding that normally secretive People's Army made no attempt to hide or remove the photos from the internet.
But the test flight was not immediately confirmed by the Chinese Defence Ministry or by the Air force. The images of the J-20 inflight, WSJ said suggest Chins is making faster than expected progress in developing a potential rival to the US F-22 (Raptor), currently the world's only fully operational stealth fighter. The US is also using the stealth technology in production of the F-35 joint strike fighter. While the Indians and Russians have also carried out test flights of their stealth fighter based on Sukhoi T-50 jet.Images of the apparent test flight were also reproduced by the website of the state-run Xinhua news agency and Global Times newspaper. The Photos showed the new fighter taking off from an airbase with the older J-10 fighters giving it a chase. While acknowledging that Chinese have made rapid strides in military technology, US experts say the fighter is many years away from actual deployment. The experts said the Chinese military aviation still relied heavily on imported Russian technology and the new fighter could be efforts to upgrade the Russian Su-27 fighters of the Chinese Air Force. They said that Beijing has developed two prototypes with one using Russian engine and the other indigenous one. It was not clear which version of the fighter took to the air today.

How can China be the 2nd country after US to have test flown the Stealth Fighter when India/Russia have already test flown 40 times T-50 as of November 2010. I don't think it makes sense !!!
印度/毛子已经在2010年12月试飞了40多次,中国凭什么做第二个试飞隐身机的国家!!!!!!

The T-50 flew without full stealth set up. It still had externally exposed rivets all over the cockpit and fuselage. The project is to develope a stealth fighter but that particular flight was just testing the engines. Rest asure that Russia will give India the T-45, not the real thing which they will keep for themselves.
50并不是全隐身试飞,机身等铆钉特多。有传言毛子将给印度猴版45.

This so called stealth fighter is nothing but a large version of J 10 with angles and painted it black you call it innovation As per experts is the armament and radar are not stealhy at all.china has been known to steal most of the technology from west. several chinese spies have been arrested for stealing various tehnologies ,there is nothing innovatve, its the same as manufaturing products from prefabficated moulds provided by walmart and labeling it made in china.Like the J10 was a copy of israeli AL lavi And the engine is Russian AL31fn turbofan This all stolen or borrowed technology.
20是10的large版,只不过有些角度并被涂黑了。

另一篇报道是说tg卖军火给evil coutries。
原文如下:
LONDON: China's failure to enforce export controls on arms to Iran has led to the Chinese-made weapons falling into the hands of insurgents fighting coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, secret US cables leaked by WikiLeaks have revealed.

US diplomats also feared that Chinese companies were selling materials to Iran that could be used to build nuclear missiles and other weapons of mass destruction, the Daily Telegraph reported Thursday, citing the leaked documents.

Chinese-made guns, as well as rocket-propelled grenades and surface-to-air missiles containing Chinese-made components, have all been used against coalition forces or civilian targets in Iraq, the US claims, while other weapons have been obtained by militants in Afghanistan.

The US was so concerned about Chinese arms and components being sold to Iran that in September 2008 the state department launched a major diplomatic offensive to put pressure on Beijing.

It decided to share intelligence with eight "key allies" including Spain and Italy to "persuade China to enforce its export control laws more effectively" and to "aggressively implement" UN Security Council resolutions on the sale of arms and weapons materials.

According to the cables, ambassadors were told to encourage the foreign governments to point out to the Chinese that arms sales to Iran "could ultimately damage China's reputation and its bilateral relationship with" each of the countries.

Patricia McNerney, of the US bureau of international security and nonproliferation, listed examples of Chinese-made weapons seized from insurgents in Iraq in a cable sent from Washington to US diplomats abroad.

They included "new-condition Chinese produced small arms" which were "found together with newly-produced Iranian military material" and a surface-to-air missile fired at a Boeing 747 civilian airliner over Baghdad in August 2004 "assembled in Iran using a mix of Chinese and Iranian parts".

Raising concerns about Iran's alleged nuclear weapons programme, McNerney added: "Certain state-owned Chinese entities and private firms continue to export or transship key items and/or dual-use technology needed to develop weapons of mass destruction or their means of delivery, as well as conventional weapons to Iran."

She told US diplomats: "Getting China to aggressively implement United Nations Security Council resolutions as well as more effectively enforce its own export controls regarding transfers of dual-use and military items to Iran is an essential component of our overall diplomatic strategy to thwart Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons and delivery systems for weapons of mass destruction."

In 2008 the US also confronted China over a shipment to Iran of 208 tonnes of potassium perchlorate, which can be used as rocket fuel.

According to the report, China is by no means the only country accused of failing to implement export controls on arms and materials sales to Iran. In April 2009 the ambassador to the European Union in Brussels noted concerns that smaller EU member states were failing to take seriously enough the threat posed by Iran.

One EU official told US diplomats that he had to "continually remind" European countries "that the situation is dangerous and unabated will lead to nuclear war in the Middle East".
