Old saying is true. No matter how funky and cool these jets look, if they dont perform when we need them to, they are useless. So, if we end up buying some funky US stuff for our strategic forces and tommorow during war times we ask for critical spare parts to keep our funky jets going and uncle Sam asks big favours in return, we'll be in a big fix.
Its always better to develop our own jets even if they are a bit less than the funky features of these foreign jets. But in times of need, our jets will have all the spare parts we need to keep them going.
If we do still intend to buy these foreign jets becoz mms has to oblige maino's relatives as middlemen, then we should at least ask for a joint venture and tech transfer to manufacture these jets in India so that we have the ability to build parts if need be.

Whatever l'il bit we are able to survive with our Air force is all bcoz of Russia's help. Even today most of the technical documentation, manuals of our fighters are in Russian. Many IAF officials are trained for Russian language. If no Russian support, we are crashed.

I don't think the Soviet Union really cared for Goa or India. They only supported India during the Cold War to get India to side with them against the West, and for India to overlook all Soviet acts of aggression. They also wanted lucrative deals from India for their second-class military hardware. Evey now and again for so many years, you hear of Indian MIGS crashing in India.

Hitler made thousands of fighter planes during 1940s and we in 2010 cant even make 1 fully indian made fighter plane.

keep believing that we are equal partners India said it wont buy their aircraft unless they knew everything about it, this is after the soviet union collapsed anyone could say anything at that time to them, that is why you see this in collaboration with India

If Indian Politicians provide even 1 percent of what they have looted from this country to the country's Scientists they can definitely make a grt Fighter Aircraft.You can't expect them to prepare a grt Fighter from the pittances they are paid for R&D.Indian defence R&D is not even half of what countries like US spend.Don't make fun of your own country we are very very capable of doing a lot of things only thing that is stopping them is Bureaucracy and lack of Political will.Just think abt number of indians working in all the High-Tech companies of the world u will understand how good we are.Be proud of your country,It's our Country our Motherland whatever ills it may have.
