MS-21 PROGRAM SUCCESSFULLY HELD THIRD CHECK ABROAD


OAO Irkut Corporation has completed work on the passage of the third turn of the control program of MS-21.

The Commission, comprising representatives of industry, professional institutions, government agencies, approved by the Corporation submitted Irkut materials.

Passage of the third turn of the control provided for:

- Analysis of a business plan and cost-effectiveness of the program;

- An assessment of the market and marketing policies;

- Review and approval of draft design, an evaluation of the technical and technological solutions;

- Analysis of solutions to support the life cycle, the use of information technologies and integrated logistics support.

The Commission also approved the budget and schedule of the next phase of the program MS-21.

Oleg Demchenko said: "Passage of the third turn of the control confirmed the correctness of ideas and solutions specialists Irkut. The program runs according to schedule. Our plans - further expansion of work and actively marketing the aircraft."

Program a family MS-21 - the main promising project UAC, which Irkut Corporation is a prime contractor. The program included in the federal program of civil aviation until 2015

The family includes three airplanes: MS-21-200 (150 seats), MC-21-300 (181 seat), MC-21-400 (212 seats).

On the technical level of MS-21 will surpass the existing airplanes. The introduction of advanced technologies will provide 25 percent improvement in fuel economy, 15 per cent reduction in operating costs, as well as a new level of environmental safety. High technical excellence will be achieved through the introduction of new aerodynamic concept of the wing, increasing the proportion of composite materials, the use of advanced high-efficiency engines and avionics of the new generation.

First flight of the MS-21 is planned for 2014 certification by Russia's standards expected to be completed in 2015, international - in 2016
