Armed Assault 《武装突击（Armed Assault）》由于 BIS 曾经推出过令军事游戏迷相当喜爱的《闪击点行动（Operation Flashpoint, OFP）》，因此这款《武装突击》的游戏风格看起来似乎相当近似于《闪击点行动》（所以有人戏称这是介于《闪击点行动》跟《闪击点行动 2》之间的《闪击点行动 1.5》），但 BIS 宣称《武装突击》是使用全新开发的游戏引擎，以提供逼真的现代战场环境，玩家并可在《武装突击》里体验到现代军事冲突事件。
