NEW DELHI: India ranks less corrupt than China for the first time in 18 years, anti-graft organisation Transparency International’s annual survey says.

The study that includes 175 countries and territories, India was ranked 85 while China came at 100, the Corruption Perceptions Index 2014 said.

I was in india and went to a governent department for property registration and lots of agents outside asked 18000 rupees for getting work done quickly. I just went inside and met chief officer who helped me do the work without single penny. When i asked why do agent charge so much, he said people are used to giving corruption in india. Giving corruption is as bad as taking corruption

我在印度，去一个政府部门登记财产，门外很多代理人要价18000卢比，可以帮忙迅速办好。

我直接进去了，里面的主任不收一分钱就给我办好了

当我问为什么外面的代理收费那么高时，他说人们习惯腐败了

India is more tolerant / less punishment of such corrupts, than China. China has hanged many, and gave life sentence to many ….. Whereas in India, how many have been hanged or given life sentence? Nice thought to console self. No wonder, there is tons of black money within India, and the poor suffers as that is what creates high inflation .. …. talk and talk, little action ..
