As controllers, it's common to work with foreign pilots, but you have to anticipate that they aren't always as fluent as WE would like them to be. Knowing this from the beginning, stay professional and make it easier for all of us.

ICAO mandates one can speak English to ATC weather you are flying in Japan, South Korea, Germany, Russia, Africa, South America, etcetc. Of course in some countries the success of that ideal is debatable.

Air China is as always guilty of the "Roger" complex. If they don't understand something they reply "Roger". They also kept interpreting "Have the people at the ramp cleared you to the gate (or have they not yet)" with "I am clearing you to the gate".

I know a Flight Instructor for the Pan Am Flight Academy in China... his line to me last month was "The day we graduate our first student is the last day I fly on any Chinese airline", based on this nobody should be flying on Chinese Airlines.

atc has a strong US accent., and dont make it easy.

Do you think there is a great necessity to have an interpreter for him? In China now ,the country is trying to cancle such a job as air interpreter. They have their reason but that is also necessary so far. Do you think so?

English is the main language known internationally under ICAO rules of Aviation and that includes China. Sounds like the pilots just need to understand the commands presented upon them... Falcon Pilot

As an ATCO, I hereby propose a total different view:
There are three main objects of air traffic control service: 1. Establish separation; 2. Expedite traffic flow; and 3. Provide additioal service when able ( alerting service... and so on ). As you can see, BITCHING IS NOT INCLUDED! My opinion is: this US ATC, made emotional transmittion in public frequency, is ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL! And somehow with a little bit racial discriminated tone...

This case, as an ATCO, 1st priority is to establish separation ( HOLD POSITON/REPORT POSITION), 2nd, to provide sevice, if pilots are in doubt, issue progressive taxi instructions. ( TO TURN RIGHT/LEFT 1st/2nd INTERSECTION...) NOT PLAYING SHREWISH!

有意思！后面很多评论是在骂指挥塔里的人的。
有点怀疑这个驾驶员是不是在做其它事情或者环境噪音比较大? 有点幼稚了
塔台也太不厚道了,知道人家没听清楚MA就早点叫Mike Alpha, 何必挖苦? 老美也不是什么好东西. :@ :@
