The missile boat of Project 12418 has been developed on the same basic platform as the Project 12421 boat. It differs from the predecessor by the missile armament only: it carries 16 missiles of the Uran-E system instead of 4 missiles of the Moskit-E system. The Uran-E missile characteristics are similar to those of American Harpoons, but the missile boats of Project 12418 carry twice more missiles on board. The boats can be delivered to customers one year after signing a contract.

The missile boat of Project 12300 (Scorpion) is a new-generation ship. It is armed with supersonic antiship missiles of the Yakhont system having a firing range of up to 300 km. These missiles, like those of the
Moskit-E system, have no analogs in the world. The boat is the world抯 first to be armed with a 100 mm A-190E lightweight gun mount, and the Kashtan-1 air defense missile system. To improve its seaworthiness, the boat is equipped with a set of automatically controlled interceptors capable of reducing rolling motions by a factor of 2 or 3. The boat will feature stealth technology elements and many other innovations which will enhance the boat抯 survivability, habitability, and weapon control automation.
In terms of combat capabilities and performance characteristics, the missile boat of Project 12300 surpasses all known missile boats and corvettes of a similar displacement. Its export is scheduled for 2002 - 2003.

The missile boat of Project 20970 (Katran) has a displacement of 284 tons. It is a relatively simple and inexpensive boat which can replace Project 205ER boats to be put out of service by the navies of many countries. Presently, more than 100 Project 205ER boats are in service worldwide. (For more details on Project 20970 boat see the article by its chief designer Yuri Arsenyev published in this issue.)
The design of the Katran boat has already been developed and the first boat can be built in 2002 - 2003.
