EADS has requested more than $ 7 billion to complete the project A400M


LONDON, December 10 (ITAR-TASS). European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS) has asked the representatives of the seven partner countries to provide additional funding in the amount of 5 billion euros (7360 million dollars) to complete the project military transport aircraft A400M, reports British newspaper the Financial Times.

On Friday, the issue discussed in Seville (Spain), where, as expected, A400M will be the first to take off. If the decision on allocation of funds will be accepted, then the total cost of the largest in the history of the EU project in the field of defense will increase by a quarter and will account for 25 billion euros.  The publication notes that the budgets of countries who have ordered 180 aircraft of this type, experiencing the negative effects of the global financial crisis, it is difficult to predict what will be their answer. EADS spokesman declined to comment on this issue.

The partner countries, which include France, Germany, Britain and Spain, are intense negotiations with EADS in March this year, after the Airbus snatched obligations under the contract, failing to send the A400M in the first test flight. The representative of Germany said that at present the details of the future solutions are unclear.But work is directed at achieving it, is "very intensively", he said.

The project A400M is delayed for 4 years, and the concern has been severely damaged.Because of the breakdown of contracts to supply aircraft of this type of EADS monthly loses about 140 million euros.=========================================
