Knud E Hansen’s first customised ro-pax design for the Chinese market

Danish naval architecture practice Knud E Hansen has announced a contract from Shanghai-based CS Marine to develop a design for a 120m ro-pax ship for operation from Hainan Island in the South China Sea.

Knud E Hansen and CS Marine have already worked on the concept design and tender documentation for the Bo Hai Shipyard, which was awarded the contract for construction of the first vessel by the Local Government of Hainan Province.

The design is for a conventionally-propelled ro-ro passenger vessel to transport vehicles and containers on a single cargo deck in compliance with Chinese Classification Society Rules and Chinese Flag regulations. It will have capacity for 444 passengers in high standard accommodation, and a crew complement of 91. There will be about 350 lane-metres of cargo deck, and capacity for some 1,200t of containers, loaded via a quarter ramp on the starboard side, so the ship can operate to ports without dedicated loading facilities. Large tank volumes for fresh water and HFO will enable the ship to service routes to various outlying islands, allowing it to act as a regular ferry or undertake longer voyages up to 30 days duration as a cruise ship.  

Particular attention has been paid to the comfort of the vessel which is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 19 knots in normal sea condition, with accommodation including bars, cafeteria, conference rooms and cinema. The visual appearance, including a distinctive funnel, has been developed in conjunction with the shipowner.

海南省政府招标建造的第一艘船舶由渤海船舶重工中标建造,该船由丹麦设计公司Knud E Hansen设计、上海CS Marine运营的120米客滚船,部署在中国海南岛服务。

Knud E Hansen和CS Marine已经着手概念设计工作,这艘船设计为常规推进的客滚船,能够运输乘客、汽车和集装箱,货物甲板符合中国船级社规定,挂中国国旗。该船能够为444名乘客以及91名船员提供高标准住宿,有大约350车道米的载货甲板,1200吨集装箱运输能力。该船有大型淡水储罐和HFO允许该船选择不同离岛航线,允许其作为普通渡轮或者航程长达30天的游轮。

这种船的设计有个难点是撤离逃生分析,当年还在cs marine做火车渡船的时候就体验过...目测这船还有当年那船的影子
国外设计的就是高端大气上档次啊
