BEIJING (Reuters) - China hit back on Friday at the U.S. State Department's annual survey of human rights, saying that only the Chinese people could pass judgment on what the Foreign Ministry said were the country's obvious achievements in the area.
北京（路透社）-中国在周五就美国国务院年度人权报告做出反击，声称只有中国人民有权对中国人权状况进行评断，而这正是外交部所称中国发展的显著成就。
Asked about criticism of China in the report, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei condemned it for being prejudiced.
当被问及报告中对于中国的批评时，外交部发言人洪磊指责这份报告充满偏见脱离事实。
"The United States State Department's annual report on human rights maligns other countries, and the content concerning China ignores the facts and is filled will prejudice, confusing black and white," he told a daily news briefing.

Since the launch of landmark economic reforms more than three decades ago, Hong said: "China's human rights endeavors have made achievements that are plain for all the world to see. The Chinese people themselves have the most right to speak about China's human rights situation".

Every year the same thing - the US,or the UN, or Human Rights Watch, points out what the world knows already - that the Chinese government imprisons, tortures and kills people who live within its borders, and the Chinese cry and whine like petulant little snots. It is the international community's responsibility to monitor other countries for human rights abuses, and then do something about it. The League of Nations did nothing while Fascism blossomed under its nose. The Chinese have attempted to wipe Tibet off the map, but cry foul whenever outsiders have "interfered." China's citizens show up at foreign embassies, in their own country, pleading for protection and exile. And you know that if there wasn't such a heavy police presence and spy network throughout the country, this would happen on a much larger scale. So China lashing back about its own human rights abuses is nothing new, and will continue until the corrupt regime falls.

Until the USA makes any similar "official statements" about places like Yemen, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia, it's only too evident that our stance on "human rights" IS prejudiced by political and economic rivalry. While our own government deems it acceptable to beat protesters who wish to stop an unpopular military adventure, we focus and repeat the American apocrypha regarding TianAnMen. Embracing events from 20 years prior, we have refused to acknowledge all the progress since, and worse - we have ignored our own actions in recent days.

Every year the same thing - the US,or the UN, or Human Rights Watch, points out what the world knows already - that the Chinese government imprisons, tortures and kills people who live within its borders, and the Chinese cry and whine like petulant little snots. It is the international community's responsibility to monitor other countries for human rights abuses, and then do something about it. The League of Nations did nothing while Fascism blossomed under its nose. The Chinese have attempted to wipe Tibet off the map, but cry foul whenever outsiders have "interfered." China's citizens show up at foreign embassies, in their own country, pleading for protection and exile. And you know that if there wasn't such a heavy police presence and spy network throughout the country, this would happen on a much larger scale. So China lashing back about its own human rights abuses is nothing new, and will continue until the corrupt regime falls.

BEIJING (Reuters) - China hit back on Friday at the U.S. State Department's annual survey of human rights, saying that only the Chinese people could pass judgment on what the Foreign Ministry said were the country's obvious achievements in the area.

Asked about criticism of China in the report, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei condemned it for being prejudiced.

"The United States State Department's annual report on human rights maligns other countries, and the content concerning China ignores the facts and is filled will prejudice, confusing black and white," he told a daily news briefing.

Since the launch of landmark economic reforms more than three decades ago, Hong said: "China's human rights endeavors have made achievements that are plain for all the world to see. The Chinese people themselves have the most right to speak about China's human rights situation".

And you know that if there wasn't such a heavy police presence and spy network throughout the country, this would happen on a much larger scale. So China lashing back about its own human rights abuses is nothing new, and will continue until the corrupt regime falls.
