To be completely frank about it though, I hope North Korea implodes peacefully. If it meant giving the dictator and his family safe passage to a neutral country so be it, but I would prefer for them to collapse and reunify with South Korea. If it came to war the South Koreans would prevail, but would suffer a lot of casualties in the process given the number of artillery shells across the DMZ.

Reunification is going to be tricky though. In East Germany people still had access to West German TV and radio so they understood a few things about the other side of the iron curtain. North Korea is much more isolated and the majority of its people have had little, if any, contact with the outside world other than what the government wants them to know. How do you assimilate people like that into a country like South Korea? l

Those of us who have seen war first hand know what it does to people and want to avoid it. I don't see them giving up. The more desperate they become the more likely it's going to be that they either play these games with the rest of the world to extort aid and money, or they try to attack South Korea.

They've played these games for decades when they want something or when they don't get their way. The difference today is that they are, in all likelihood, in possession of six to ten atomic weapons.

i agree, North Korea should transfer power to Seoul. But dialogue doesn't work, so they either surrender and do that, or war.

this is why I cancelled my sponsor child in north korea through world vision -- charities feeding the children so that the gov't can spend money on weapons --3rd world terrorist trash just like Iran, Gaza, Egypt, Syria ....

The only thing that unites N Korea is starvation. The entire nation would fold like a bad hand of cards at the slightest suggestion of war. Especially when they recognize that China doesn't give 2 sh!ts about them. Kim Jong Il, Please please please please attack S Korea. Your people will thank you for it after they've been rescued from poverty.

GO USA -- it should take about 17 minutes to take over that shyte hole. It took the US about an hour to drive a few tank columns aound Baghhhhhhdad and all the muslim generals screamed and ran for their lives -- lololol .... bunch of losers ... and N Korea is even weaker --- :)
