伊通社周五报道,总统在贺电中说:我本人就伊朗少年排球队在亚洲锦标赛上夺冠并取得进军新加坡少年奥运会的资格向伊朗少年、青年和成年排球队致以诚挚的祝贺。
他表示,伊朗青少年一代所体现的自信、憧憬和决心让伊朗民族有希望站在民族之林的巅峰。

Iran succeeds in defending the Asian Boys' Champ. title

Tehran, Iran, March 21, 2010 – Iran defended their title at the Asian Youth Boys'  Volleyball Championship and secured their place at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games with a 3-2 victory over China in the finals here on Friday.

Iran, who lost only one match to Korea in the preliminary round, will now travel to Singapore for the first Youth Olympic Games from August 14 to 26 as well as the 2011 FIVB Boys'  Youth World Championship along with China and Korea .who finished third.with a 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-21, 25-17) victory over India.

Elsewhere, Japan edged out Taipei 3-1 (25-11, 20-25, 25-20, 26-24) to secure the 5th position and Thailand recorded a 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-21) victory over Sri Lanka to finish 7th.

The match between Iran and China started with a very exciting performance from both sides. But the home side easily won the opening set by a 25-17 margin before the Chinese came back from 18-22 with good blocking to level the scores at one all.

However, Iran certainly would not let their rivals to play the match in their way. Iran did wonderful job in spike and service, taking 28 minutes to lead their rivals again.

Despite falling behind, the Chinese kept their fighting and came back again, exploiting the Iran's errors (Iran made a total of 38 errors). Although Iran struggled to keep the score board ticking, Chinese boys, with good action of service, block and spike, went ahead to take the fourth set, forcing the match into the fifth set.

The way the tiebreaker went was completely beyond expectation. With 3500 partisan spectators making continues voice by horn and drum, the host team jumped to a 5-1 lead and then increased it to 10-4. Thanks once again to an astonishing attacking from Iran's Khani M. Ramin, the most valuable player of the Championship, the Iranians sealed the set and the match 3-2 (25-17, 26-28, 28-26,22-25,15-7).

Khani M. Ramin, the most valuable player of the Championship, and Hosseinabadi Javad led Iran to the final victory over China, contributing 21 and 19 points respectively. The Iranian boys had an 34-26 advantage in spiking, 9-6 in blocking and 8-3 in servicing.

In the bronze medal match between Korea and India, the first set started very competitive when the India team showed very high performance in defense and attacks but later the Korean team fully dominated the match to win easily the set.

Indians surprised their rival team with a disciplined defense and block. Led by the libero Amandeep Sinha and wing spiker Sunny, India took the second set. However, Korea did not give any chances in the next two sets. The Korean combination led by the setter Lee Min–Gyu, effective blocking, and powerful attacking helped the Koreans to win the match.

Japan edged out ChineseTaipei 3-1 (25-11, 20-25, 25-20, 26-24) to secure the 5th position in the championship. Japan spiker Yaman Shuzo was the match star not only with his 22 points that put him as the match scorer but also with his fighting spirit in the court.
