The F-35 program is ten years behind schedule and billions over budget. The ONLY way the F-35 program is going to work is by having high volume sales. That already is in jeopardy and anything that interferes with sales will cripple and already bloated and wasteful program. In the near future we are not going to have an air force. Our older planes are falling apart. We have 165 F-22's which aren't getting any younger and we are throwing a huge portion of the defense budget to feed Lockheed Martin on this turkey of an aircraft. It's pure insanity.

At the time, tech had one of the top composite structural analysis and design programs on the planet. All of the US citizens went to work for major aerospace companies. Where do you think the chinese students went ? That was over 25 years ago, they have had a lot of time to perfect their designs.
