A top Chinese general Thursday stronglydefended Beijing's territorial claims over disputed islands in the South andEast China Seas and charged that the U.S. rebalance of forces to the Pacificwas encouraging unrest in the region.

Fang warned that China would respond to anyattempts by Vietnam, Japan or other neighbors to assert their own claims overthe disputed islands and reefs.

"We do not create trouble but we arenot afraid of trouble," Fang said at a Pentagon news conference aftermeetings with Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Dempsey appeared to be slightly irritatedas he waited to comment while listening to a long-winded response by Fang onthe current dispute with Vietnam over offshore oil drilling rights.

"Thank you for giving me the time toformulate my answer," Dempsey told Fang.

When his turn finally came, Dempseydismissed Fang's objections to the so-called "Pacific pivot" and saidthe U.S. was committed to the policy.

孤立主义在现在的美国并没有太大市场。。。但也有一定的人群支持。。。
本质上来说，孤立主义是美国国内一种非常激进的民族主义思潮。。。和历史上的孤立主义有一定的区别。。。
他们的基本观点就包括美国退出北约，甚至退出联合国。。。
美国的海军应该只保护美国人，不管其它国家种族屠杀也好，战乱也好，抢劫也好。。。。反正死的不是美国人，那就与美国无关。。。最好是全世界天天都这样。。。。

另外就是美国也不需要铁杆盟友，欧洲也继续打吧，海湾也继续打吧（美国海军只负责保护美国船只）。。。。
简而言之，就是世界大乱吧，美国孤立吧。。。反正已经没有苏联。。。
