The Expedition 31 crew of the International Space Station spent much of the day Tuesday working with the SpaceX Dragon cargo vehicle, reviewing procedures for the departure of the first commercial spacecraft to visit the station and packing it with items for return to Earth.

Dragon, which delivered 1,014 pounds of non-critical cargo on its demonstration flight to the station, was cleared unanimously Tuesday by the station’s Mission Management Team for unberthing early Thursday. In reverse order of how Dragon was captured and berthed Friday, the crew will use the station’s Canadarm2 robotic arm to detach the vehicle from the Earth-facing port of the station’s Harmony node at 4:05 a.m., move it away from the station and release it at 5:35 a.m. for return to Earth. The SpaceX team in Hawthorne, Calif., will run Dragon through about five hours of orbital operations before commanding it to a splashdown for recovery off the California coast.

Hawthorne, CA - After making the historic journey as the first commercial spacecraft to visit the International Space Station, SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft will return to Earth tomorrow.

The return is by no means an easy operation. In fact, today, Dragon is the only spacecraft capable of returning a significant amount of cargo from the space station. The other cargo vehicles serving the space station - from Russia, Japan and the European Space Agency - can carry cargo up but all are destroyed after leaving the station.

While Dragon was attached to the space station, astronauts unloaded 1,146 pounds of cargo including food, other crew provisions and student experiments. They then packed the spacecraft with 1,455 pounds of cargo that will be returned to NASA on Earth including hardware used for experiments, spacewalks and station systems.

This morning, astronauts closed the hatch on the vehicle. Early Thursday, at approximately 1:00 AM Pacific/4:00 AM Eastern, they will use the space station's robotic arm to pull the spacecraft from the station. Two hours later, the robotic arm will release Dragon and the spacecraft will begin its journey home.

Dragon is targeted to land in the Pacific Ocean, a few hundred miles west of Southern California, at approximately 8:44 AM Pacific/11:44 AM Eastern on Thursday, May 31st. The spacecraft returns to Earth like a burning comet, protected from extreme reentry temperatures by its powerful PICA-X heat shield. The landing location is controlled by firing the Draco thrusters during reentry.

为啥?那玩意儿到底是人家的,我们要有自己的,对于中国来说,怎么就把神九的意义给降低了?

为啥?龙飞船并没有提升MD的航天技术水平,而神舟9对中国航天而言则是一次实打实的进步
龙可没准备好在海面降落。
因为表面上MD是一家私人公司干的,中国是举国干的呗!
当然神九成功是我们得里子了,但宣传上绝对是劣势!
有人就是太敏感。土鳖美帝各玩各的。美帝那是属于技术先进但是市场化不够才这么玩,土鳖国还没到这一步,只能国家发力,本来都不是一码事。

打个不太确切的比方,美帝那是肉吃多了解决减肥和高血脂问题,土鳖才刚吃上肉。。。

dragon已经从国际空间站脱离,发动机的第二次点火已经完成,目前距国际空间站距离约为100米。

不就没钱给nasa折腾了嘛,弄出个公司拉客干私活捞银子。

dragon的导航舱门将关闭,以防再入时候高温造成损害。

目前看来spacex公司正在控制飞船。
看蜥蜴飞船这次上天把国内一些动物给兴奋的啊,比把自己祖宗发上天都激动。

有些假洋鬼子象吃了兴奋剂一样激动,这个飞船不过是阿波罗的翻版,论技术水平比航天飞机大大倒退,航天飞机时代的航天员可以驾着飞机在机场着陆从舷梯走向何等风光,而今后美国航天员坐着龙飞船回地球又穿越回了阿波罗时代,拖着降落伞在空中飘啊飘落在哪里什么姿态着陆只能祈祷上帝。

The capsule's Draco thrusters have shut down, concluding Dragon's deorbit burn. The next milestone is jettison of the craft's trunk section, a module containing solar panels outfitted to carry unpressurized cargo. That will come at 11:09 a.m. EDT (1509 GMT).




是啊,神舟里面的宇航员就不用祈祷上帝,只要祈祷别去见马克思就行。
看来一切顺利,下一步就是抛弃trunk。然后就是进入大气层了。

上面的两位没搞懂状况就喷,nasa把粗活给商业公司,本来就是计划中的事情,哪会有打耳光?没看见nasa那么配合,如此重视?这些天nasa的网站都是这事,年轻人胸怀大一点,别把血性用在网上,我只不过影射了一下某国,至于吗?搞人身攻击可不太好。

觉得举国体制不好,一棒子打死,可别在我面前装老,你这种思路就说明你相当年轻,眼光嘛,还是要放长远点,具体事情具体分析。落后国家咋发展,就得靠举国体制,航空航天业成功的例子有空客,国家成功的例子有韩国--举国发展几家大公司。SPACEX的成功对美国才是打了举国体制的脸,世界No1的技术水平早就该放开,也不会沦落到今天载人上天都费劲的地步。不过哪,对别国的意义却恰恰相反--更要坚持举国体制不动摇,美国随便拎出来个公司都这么厉害,不靠举国体制跟美国根本没法竞争啊。。。
落地精度很好,飞船没有落地即被飞机发现,很成功的一次发射。虽然多个环节出现问题,但是解决都很迅速。spacex的团队效率很高。



说些我的浅见,这次dragon其实也摆脱不了举国体制,火箭和飞船、发射场是Spacex,但是跟踪、测控、回收和各方面的保障这些不都还是举国在做?只不过spacex股份是私人的而已。当然,作为一家新兴的私营公司可能更能够大胆的采用新技术新工艺,而不需要考虑很多历史包袱,可以轻装上阵。并且私营公司也有其机制灵活,执行力更高,更加市场化的优点。但是不要忘记一个前提,这个私营公司能够成功与美国航空航天长期以来的人才的储备、技术的储备是分不开的。反观中国在现在基础(包括人才储备、技术储备)薄弱的情况下,还是要拧成一股绳才有用,一旦散开,将极大削弱我国的科技积累,因此,目前我国还没办法发展出能够操控这些高科技的私营企业,当然也不排除有那么一天,我们国家的航天人才已经充裕,技术积累已经达到目前美国的高度,那时候相信民间会有不少资金愿意进入航天这个领域的。
所以我们还是要一步一个脚印脚踏实地的发展,不要自卑,要相信我们也会发展到把航天白菜化的那一天的。
