2nd Iran Cansat Competition

With the successful experience of 1st Iran Cansat Competition in National Range, Aerospace Research Institute (ARI) decided to hold the 2nd one, too. In order to step forward, 2nd Iran Cansat Competition (ICC2012) will be International and More Competitive. ICC2012 will be held in two sections for Balloon Release (Section A) and Rocket Challenge (Section B). ARI is in charge of Section A and Khwarizmi Section of Iran Research Organization of Science and Technology (IROST) will manage Section B.
Both ARI and IROST hope this competition can be a way to make an international community for educational and small project in Space Engineering area, servicing the whole members in this community.

ICC2012 Registration

Registration for the 2nd Iran Cansat Competition (ICC2012) will be open by February 3rd, 2012. Registration is online and teams may register in the website related to the section of their interest. ICC2012 will be held in 2 sections, one for Balloon Release (A) and another for Rocket Challenge (B). Each project may register in just one of these sections as missions are different, but each team may have projects for each section. Registration will be closed by February 20th, 2012.
Teams need to know their formation and include a logo and team picture for registration and must read competition Guidelines before registration. Cansat

Cansat is an Aerospace system which is specially used for Educational and Research based goals. Cansat is made up of two words, Can referring to a Soda Can and Sat as short form of Satellite. Cansat, in fact can be considered as a tiny satellite with simple missions in order to be producible in an academic environment, with this difference that it is released and recovered from an altitude of about some hundred meters using parachute. However, this distance seems enough for the cansat to operate the mission like real functional satellite missions.
One of the most important requirements for cansat is about its dimensions and mass, like all satellites have. Due this requirement and the missions like satellites or space robots and rovers, cansat can be a very good bed for students and researchers, intended to design and develop a simple aerospace system and make them familiar with the process and failures in the way. Besides, involved people may experience team work and present and
implement their ideas, which can be counted as main objectives of cansat competitions in the world.

Missions

Cansats may cover many missions, as it is usually simple to implement missions on them. But there are some known missions usually proposed in competitions. These missions are introduced here:
•    Atmospheric Sounding
Cansat shall measure some of atmospheric parameters in this mission.
•    Photo/Video Capture
Cansat shall capture photos or videos during the time between release and landing. Data may be transmitted real time or stored onboard and recovered after landing.
•    Comeback
Cansat shall autonomously approach to a predefined position (Goal).
•    Deployment of Antenna
Cansat shall deploy an antenna after landing on earth, using specific mechanisms designed for this purpose.
•    Airbag Landing
In this mission, cansat shall land on its airbag and remain safe. Cansat may use other recovery mechanisms like parachute along with the airbag.

2nd Iran Cansat Competition

好像咱们国家上世纪80年代初有一股科技热潮,做航模组装半导体收音机挺多的,现在谁还鼓捣这些都沉迷于上网了。
没什么意义,增加太空垃圾而已。
