A private wipes his forehead during a break at the roadside. In late October 2011 Kunduz based 3.Task Force started a several days operation in and around Nawabad (District Chahar Darah), west of Kunduz, northern Afghanistan.

British soldiers from the First Fusiliers armoured infantry regiment providing security to IDPs while trying to relocate the IDPs to their new living facility in Vallejuelo, West Isle. Behind the group of soldiers and IDPs is the UN bus that was used in relocating IDPs. This was part of Exercise Maple Resolve in Wainwright, AB from 3 Oct -25 Oct 2011.
Exercise Maple Resolve is one of the largest training events conducted in many years that is not directly linked to a specific mission. This training will expose the soldiers of 2 CMBG to common scenarios which are applicable to a multitude of missions, whether international or domestic.

                                                                                                                                                       

意大利陆军航空兵A129“猫鼬”武装直升机

意大利陆军航空兵的主战直升机A129，是一种轻型专用武装直升机，绰号“猫鼬”（Mangusta）。意大利阿古斯塔公司研制的A-129猫鼬武装直升机是欧洲第一型武装直升机，也是第一种经历过实战考验的欧洲国家的武装直升机。在2001年北京航展和2004年珠海航展上，阿古斯塔公司都特意带来了猫鼬的模型，引起了国内军事爱好者浓厚的兴趣。
猫鼬采用了军用STDl290坠毁生存标准，它是继UH一60、AH-64后第三种采用该标准的直升机。带两极液压减震支撑杆的主起落架和马丁一贝克防坠座椅，再加上机身变形设计，能够保障飞机在以11.2米/秒的垂直速度和13.1米/秒的水平速度落向地面时，乘员具有90%的存活率。其起落架能够保障机体和蒙皮在4.57米/秒的“硬着陆”时不会造成大的破坏。
A129在4个外挂点上可携带1200千克外挂物，通常携带8枚“陶”反坦克导弹、两挺机枪或81mm火箭发射舱。主要反装甲武器是装在短翼上的“陶”式导弹，瞄准具安装在机头，但还可安装旋翼主轴瞄准具。另外A129也有携带“毒刺”空空导弹的能力。
改进升级后旋翼系统由4片桨叶改成5片桨叶，增大了旋翼系统的拉力，使全机最大起飞重量由4100千克提高到5100千克，有地效条件下悬停高度由3750米提高到4206米，以便在4200米以上也能起飞执行任务。头部安装的直瞄武器由12.7毫米机枪改为3管20毫米机炮，增强了对地攻击的火力。具有使用AGM-114“海尔法”反坦克导弹的能力，相比起“陶”式，反坦克能力大大增强。另外增加了发射北约制式70毫米火箭弹发射器，具备了发射“毒刺”空空导弹的能力。
