U.K. may disrupt social networks during unrest
LONDON -- Reuters, Published Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011
Britain is considering disrupting online social networking such as
Blackberry Messenger and Twitter during civil unrest, Prime Minister David
Cameron said on Thursday, a move widely condemned as repressive when used by
other countries.
英国首相卡梅伦准备屏蔽Blackberry Messenger and Twitter。而其他国家使用这一做法时常被认为是镇压手段。
“We are working with police, the intelligence services and industry to look
at whether it would be right to stop people communicating via these
websites and services when we know they are plotting violence, disorder and
criminality,” Cameron told parliament during an emergency session prompted
by the riots.
卡梅伦说：我们正在和警方、情报部门以及业界商讨，是否可以屏蔽人们使用这些网络，如果我们察觉他们在策划导致社会无序、暴力以及犯罪。
