Henderson police spokesman Todd Rasmussen said the 19-year-old suspect was arrested about 8:30 a.m. by officers responding to a burglary and he was placed in handcuffs in the back of a patrol car, the Las Vegas Sun reported Thursday.
Rasmussen said the officer driving the vehicle took the suspect, whose name was not released, to retrieve personal property he claimed to have left behind at the scene of the burglary.
The spokesman said the officer got out of the car to speak with another officer and the suspect quickly managed to move his handcuffed arms to the front of his body and climb through a narrow opening in the plexiglass divider to the front seat of the vehicle.
