The minister said this to the press Tuesday that cooperation was agreed during the visit of the Brazilian Navy commander, Carlos Soares de Moura Neto, the Asian country in April, the feast of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the PLA Navy.

"Admiral Moura Neto was in China, and we are committed to train Chinese officers in the Brazilian ships and even aircraft carriers in Sao Paulo," Jobim said.

"China wants to return to Marina, but need instruction, so it was agreed that Chinese would come to train, to learn. They are especially interested in aircraft carriers," he added.
“中国人想回到大海（Marina是西班牙语“海”的意思，google把这词误译为地名了），但需要指点，所以我们达成协议，中国人会过来训练，来学习。他们对航空母舰特别感兴趣。”他还提到。
In March, Defense Minister of China, General Liang Guanglie, highlighted the need for China to possess an aircraft carrier, because it is the only country among the major powers of the world who do not possess.

The Brazilian minister stressed that the naval cooperation could be the starting point for other initiatives in the area of defense.

"In China what we have in the field of defense is that possibility. And you know that starts with that, then things are happening," he said.

Jobim also anticipated that it will be a good time for China to define the details of that agreement.
