India and Russia will form a joint venture (JV) to support India's licensed production of Kamov Ka-226T 'Hoodlum' light multirole helicopters, the CEO of Russian state holding company Rostec has confirmed.

Sergei Chemezov said in a Rostec statement on 28 December that the JV will be between India's state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Rostec subsidiary Russian Helicopters. The new venture will be supported by Russian technology transfers under New Delhi's drive to spur indigenous manufacturing, he said.
