If you will observe, there was a time whenChina was eyeing on Taiwan to reclaim the island stating that it belongs tothem and they will get it no matter what because it is their province. As thetension escalates, Taiwan began to modernise their military forces to asuperlative degree and as if, whatever the Unites States has, they also have italmost equally. From then on China started to ward of their claims and there iscontinuous silence in between.

I am really very surprised that we complainabout being poor, not having anything at all against China. We should notforget we are in this divisive situation because of our own doings. A lot of ussell our votes to corrupt politicians a mere buck and elect them in postion, weare as close minded as we can be whenever a change comes our way for a longterm improvement if not forever. Our crab mentality traits get the better of usmost of the time if not always when we see someone able to create an improvementfor the nation. We criticize instead of appreciate, listening and believing thefools who lead the flock to thy doom.
And Filipinos are wondering why everyonehas left us out. If we desire change, we should change fist. We need selfdiscipline, be a little appreciative of the good things we reap from theminimal effort we exert...and most of all we have to have shame and selfrespect to create changes in our community if not our nation.
We don't need an analytical mind to figureout what's going on around us, all we have to do is observe how the politiciansgive away money or buy votes during election, from that alone we candifferentiate an honest leader from a corrupt. If we still choose to go forvote buyers then we should prepare ourselves for another misery that could lasta life time.

Those atoll's and reef's also serve as anearly warning system for the Chinese, in their anticipation of the U.S. return,they need to monitor aircraft takeoff's and ship movements in the area inaddition to an early missile warning system. This is just their first step ofmany to militarize the area for a better defensive posture. So, your going toneed a lot of heavy hardware and defensive weaponry. first, the Philippines made a lot of noiseabout our claims. even got our people fired up. we even managed to dismay ourfellow ASEAN neighbors. don't forget putting the US in an awkward position.
despite US advise to tone down therhetoric, our government proceeds to issue even more inflammatory rhetoric. gotto the point where our President was exchanging sarcastic remarks with chinesenews journalists and opinionists. Pnoy upped the ante by comparing the chineseto the nazis.

We are where we are because of thosemajority idiot Filipinos who only think of themselves. They sell their votesand blame the government for their miseries. This country will remain as it isif the attitude of some of our countrymen will not change. There is a glimpseof hope however with our younger generation. An aggressive values education maytranslate to better citizens in the future. By teaching them to love theircountry, to be responsible citizens and to stand up always for what is right. Idon't lose hope that someday, hopefully in my life time, most of us are moreresponsible, patriotic and upright citizens of this country.

The Philippines loves to blame others fortheir situation. What they forget is they voted for the politicians whosquandered the money. They had a few good presidents who tried to modernize thePhilippines (Ramos, and the current president Aquino) but all was in vainbecause the other politicians are all crooks. If Marcos, GMA and Binay returnthe money they have stolen that could have been a starting point in themilitary modernization.
When controlling the population was on thetable, the church would blame the rich for the misfortunes of the poor??? Whenthe police are caught taking bribes the people should realize that it is all ofthem who are at fault for giving the bribes.
