As i said before there is nothing 5th generation on this plane then just the stealth geometry , no engines , no radars , no weapons , absolutely nothing which can be said to have any specific advantage over the rafale but yes in a 5 year span or a decade or so will see where this bird stands.

May be this one would be for Export possibly would be offered to allies,the PLAN is already building 2 more AC's with flat top configuration and steam catapults,may be this could be a possible stealth fighter for the Navy ...since it's just a first prototype..in case PLAN officially endorses this one we may see a foldable wing Prototype soon
on the other Hand beside the induction of J20,PLAAF has the other option of this one...this looks a smaller jet with comparatively less wingspan than J-20 may be suitable for PLAAF to replace it's 3rd gen fighter along J-10's

Seems like this plane is a hybrid of F-22 and F-35, without any thrust vectoring. that was back in 2006 when PAK-FA was under earlier stage of development,Mikoyan 1.42/1.44 project went into bottleneck due to shortage of fund's...it was cancelled before entering production...the USAF already had F-22 in service by then..Sukhoi on the other hand was involved in similar project..so when the Russians decided to go on Fighter based on the Sukhoi prototype it made no sense to enter JV with Mikoyan considering the funding of project...the Indian Air force have evaluated the PAK-FA prototype and are quite happy with it...i agree that India was interested with Mikoyan earlier but that was when PAK-FA Prototype wasn't out

To be very frank i didnt not like the idea when China copies even minor products say a small toy to a mobile phone , but the approach is different , over the years i have seen China make some good stuff , small household stuff to electronic items.
Now the idea of this plane or military technology is a bit different , its about various doctrines .
Some would like to follow the doctrine of labour and failure , keep failing , 1, 2, 3 , and numerable times till you make it proper , its time consuming , its morale losing and its economically straining.
The second doctrine would be to blindly copy some product without knowing the pitfalls or knowing the minor details and when encountered with a crisis they start the process of learning.
The third doctrine would be to engage in things you are capable of , and buy , rent , take advice on things you know you are not capable of and then put all things together and make it from scratch.
Now what India is doing is quite different , for years they tried reinventing the wheel , there was need to be re-invesnt the wheel it was done way back for mankind the idea should be to how best we can put it to application . When India realized that they were strugging with the engine tec they employed GM , russians , french and all minds to come together and share how they can make one properly.
Now India is looking for JV in any major project this the process of learning , the recent french deal gives us the way to learn and develop some advanced tech at home , its not just a purcahse of some 126 plane sits about purchasing the technology and learning from it and adapting it in future .
A prime example is india's space technology which developed over 50 years with the help of other countries and today we are proudly launching our own missions and even helping out other minor nations.

from what i have read so far on Chinese forums and web source,this prototype is actually for evaluation for foreign Customer's - an Export variant basically and most probably [Meant for Pakistan air force].If this turns out to be true then it's a huge concern for Indian air force with its depleting fleet and our Stealth fighter with the Russian's is already facing delays !!
If the need arises,my take is Indian air force will initially Induct a batch of Russian specific single seater's by 2016 and will replace them with Indian tailored version later,the same we did during Induction of Sukhois
根据我目前在中国论坛读到的和网络上收集到的，这个原型机实际上是为国外客户评估的-基本上是出口版且最有可能的是巴基斯坦空军。如果证明这是真的那么对印度空军就有巨大的干系---会消耗我们的舰队（deplete fleet 不确定翻译）而且我们与俄国合作的隐身飞机正面临延迟！如果需要的话，我建议印度空军在2016年之前先引进一批俄罗斯单座版的新一代战机（译者-记得印度要的是合作开发双座版），然后再用印度的双座版取代他们，就像我们在引进苏霍伊时做的那样。



PS:此贴的目的，不是要恶心谁、轻视谁、吓唬谁，只是当作一个桥梁，把别人的看法传递过来，至于说的是幼不幼稚、有没有肉、是否局限性等等，是给大家每个人判断的，我只是尽量尊重原文，仅此而已，因个人水平及时间，无法所有都翻译，还请见谅。

根据我目前在中国论坛读到的和网络上收集到的，这个原型机实际上是为国外客户评估的-基本上是出口版且最有可能的是巴基斯坦空军。如果证明这是真的那么对印度空军就有巨大的干系---会消耗我们的舰队（deplete fleet 不确定翻译）而且我们与俄国合作的隐身飞机正面临延迟！如果需要的话，我建议印度空军在2016年之前先引进一批俄罗斯单座版的新一代战机（译者-记得印度要的是合作开发双座版），然后再用印度的双座版取代他们，就像我们在引进苏霍伊时做的那样。



PS:此贴的目的，不是要恶心谁、轻视谁、吓唬谁，只是当作一个桥梁，把别人的看法传递过来，至于说的是幼不幼稚、有没有肉、是否局限性等等，是给大家每个人判断的，我只是尽量尊重原文，仅此而已，因个人水平及时间，无法所有都翻译，还请见谅。

真是无理取闹！
编辑帖子再正常不过，不愿再内部争斗跟你纠缠，只想让事情回归讨论本身，反倒成了你继续咬人的借口？！
正常讨论已经在进行，为何舍本逐末无视呢？你没有权利瞧不起任何人，跟印度人平等交流怎么就不行呢，你揣测我想通过贴个战斗机图片去吓唬印度人？就为了向人家表威？印度人如果真这么脆弱，贴个AK47就够了！分明是先入为主，以己度人，可笑。
观点可以不同，但每个人都有表达的权利，包括你，但是请保持客观理性的态度！
