美国海军周六为最新建成的两栖攻击舰“纽约号”（USS New York）举行命名典礼。这艘军舰最特别之处，是它的一部分材料，是“九一一”事件中倒塌的纽约世界贸易中心的废铁循环再造而成。美军希望藉这艘军舰展示实力，并激励美国人发挥打不死的精神。

　　《星岛日报》消息，当局邀请数以千计的嘉宾，包括当年在恐袭中丧生的死难者的遗属和朋友，出席这项命名仪式。灰色船身的“纽约号”挂满红、白、蓝三色彩带，众嘉宾齐集在军舰周围，见证这历史性时刻。

　　“纽约号”的船头主干部分，是用7吨半钢材建成，而这些钢材是从世贸中心遗址搜集到废铁再提炼而成的。船头有一块护罩，上面有两条灰色的柱状图案，象征世贸中心双子塔，又挂上一幅横幅，印上纽约市民这几年经常挂在口边的一句口号：“永不忘记！”

　　赞助建造这艘新军舰的副国防部长恩吉兰的妻子主持仪式，把一瓶香槟撞向船头。她说：“愿主祝福这艘军舰，保佑随它出海航行的人。”一些应邀出席的贵宾说，“纽约号”的诞生，令他们勾起不少伤痛的回忆，但同时也令他们引以为傲。

　　其实在六年多前“九一一”恐袭大灾难发生时，海军已经计划兴建这艘两栖攻击舰，但当时还未为它命名。海军后来决定把它称为“纽约号”。

　　副国防部长恩吉兰在仪式上发言时指出，“纽约号”带给人回忆和反思的机会，将来在这艘军舰上执行任务的军人，象征力量和抱负。

　　“纽约号”排水量2.5万吨，全长684英尺、宽105英尺，吃水23英尺，造价10亿美元，可接载360名海军水兵和700名海军陆战队队员。这是美国海军建成的第五艘最新级数的战舰。
很有纪念意义，但假如哪天它被击沉了，不知纽约人民作何感想。:lol

估计到该舰退休的时候，会成为博物馆了。永远纪念拉登同志。

继续建造新的纽约号呗。
这样的事情并不是没有过。二次大战初期美国被击沉的重巡洋舰、航母的舰名，都被用来命名新建中的巡洋舰和航母。
激励美国人发挥打不死的精神

并没有所谓的“不吉利”的顾虑。
想想看当时的日本人真是绝望，辛辛苦苦击沉1艘又造出来俩。。。

超过35万吨的来自世贸双塔的废钢材以每吨75到100美元的价格卖到中国,马来西亚,韩国和印度作循环再利用,不知美海军是否为这7.5吨付过钱了?;P
