"With a radar signature equivalent to a dolphin, it can remain undetected thousands of miles from home and hundreds of meters underwater," defense contractor BAE Systems said of the Astute. "In the right conditions it can detect the QE2 leaving New York harbor from the English Channel," BAE Systems said.

生产厂家自己的描述性的文字还是不要拿来做什么证据吧，不信我们可以举很多类似的夸张的话语。
如果认真的来说的话，这个detect到底是个什么样的情况？ 足够大的声音确实可能穿越大洋被足够强的设备监听到，但仅仅只是监听到还没有意义，这是不可能作为设备的性能参数的 。
