But thefencing body said Shin's defeat was entirely legitimate.

South Korea has had atleast 4 of these incidents in this years Olympics where they claimed that theyunfairly lost. Their claims range from China bribing judges to racismagainst Koreans. Judging from the video of this fencing match, it is hard tosay who is in the wrong. Not everything is fair in sports.

Yeah, give her a SpecialOlympics Award. Not even mentally and physically challenged cries like ShinA-Lam. Special sportsmanship award? How about tell her to take Sportsmanship101 and get at least a C before coming for the event?

征文翻译：The South Korean fencer who staged a tearful, hour-long sit-inprotest over Olympic judging will receive a consolation medal recognising hersportsmanship, the sport's world body said Tuesday.
The International Fencing Federation (FIE) said Shin A-Lam would be given a special medal for her"aspiration to win and respect for the rules" out of respect for herfeelings.
"Ofcourse, we understand the frustration and feelings of the athlete. That's whywe decided to give this award," a spokeswoman told AFP.
In amazingscenes Shin, sobbing and shaking her head, refused to leave the piste for morethan an hour after Monday's epee semi-final defeat to Germany'sBritta Heidemann.
The two hadbeen locked at 5-5 inside the extra minute period. The German then scored thewinning hit, but the Korean coach claimed the assault came after the lastsecond on the clock was up.
However, South Korea'sappeals failed and Shin was eventually persuaded to leave the piste. Shortlyafterwards, she lost the bronze-medal match against China's Sun Hujie.
ParkYong-Sung, president of South Korea's NationalOlympic Committee, said the FIE offered the medal after acknowledging apossible problem with timekeeping at the event.
But thefencing body said Shin's defeat was entirely legitimate.
"Thedecision was according to the rules and FIE regulations, and it wasclear," the spokeswoman said.

South Korea has had atleast 4 of these incidents in this years Olympics where they claimed that theyunfairly lost. Their claims range from China bribing judges to racismagainst Koreans. Judging from the video of this fencing match, it is hard tosay who is in the wrong. Not everything is fair in sports.

yeah, it's the officals. If there was no problem with the officials thenwhy do they give her something? 4th place shouldn't get anything. MichaelPhelps got no consolation medal for getting 4th either..
By giving the consolation medal, Olympic acknowledge its false.
