The project was developed in the Central Maritime Design Bureau "Almaz", which today is a leading design organizations shipbuilding industry in Russia, a unique range and complexity of development projects. CMDB "Almaz" - the only Russian designer of high-speed boats and surface warships of small and medium displacement, landing craft air cushion ships of mine defense, as well as ships and special ships and floating docks. Extensive scientific and technical potential of CMDB "Almaz" is based on the vast experience of design, construction and testing of ships, skilled professionals, working closely with shipyards and major research centers in Russia. As developed by the projects built more than 26,000 combat boats, ships and vessels for various purposes.
Construction of "Seliger" is part of the contract, which Baltic Shipyard won the competition in early 2009. Under this contract, "Amber" will build another one oceanographic vessel for the Navy of Russia.
