The Globemaster carries up to four times the payload of the RAAF抯 other combat airlift aircraft, the C-130 Hercules, and can carry more than 70 tonnes of cargo - for example, up to three Black Hawk or Sea Hawk helicopters, or five Light Armoured Vehicles

俄《时日报》3月11日文章，原题：中国引发“空客”和“波音”决斗 世界飞机制造巨头可能会因自己的中国客户而打起来。中国目前正计划造自己的民用大客机。
中国筹建大型客机的公司是家新成立公司，资产为7亿美元，股东有中国航空工业第一、第二集团公司（AVIC I II）。
据《消息报》报道，去年底AVIC I提议建造中国第一民用大客机ARJ21。该大客机有70到90个座位，3月将进行试飞，2009年订户可得到第一架飞机。庞巴迪(Bombardier)公司和巴西航空工业公司(Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica SA，简称Embraer)、俄罗斯的苏霍伊公司也将参与竞争。
据预测，中国在未来20年共需要330架中等型号飞机，世界总需求量为3700架。但专家对中国“空客”项目持怀疑态度。亚洲航空航天论坛（Aerospace Forum Asia）主席马丁•克雷格斯（Martin Craigs）说：“我丝毫不怀疑他们（中国）有这样的雄心和财力支持。但‘空客’用了20年才有实力与‘波音’一争高下。” 瑞士银行(UBS)驻香港的分析师达明•赫尔特（Damien Horth）说：“我不认为中国产150座大飞机在未来10年内能飞上蓝天。”
