韩国大宇造船海洋工程（Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering，DSME）为印尼建造的首艘Type 209/1400潜艇KRI Nagabanda（403）在3月24日举行的下水典礼。预计在2017年3月交付。


印尼与韩国在2011年12月签署合同，由DSME为印尼建造三艘Type 209/1400潜艇（韩国张保皋级的同型艇），价值1.3万亿印尼盾（11亿美元）。

后两艘艇是KRI Trisula (404)与KRI Nagarangsang (405) ，二号艇仍在DSME建造（预计2018年交付），三号艇技术转移到印尼本国PT PAL船厂建造，交期未定。


印尼的三艘Type 209/1400潜艇长61.3米，潜航排水量1400吨，最大航速（短程冲刺）21节，浮航10节（续航力10000海里），编制40人。配备德国Atlas Electronic CSU 90集成主/被动搜索与攻击声纳系统、侧面阵列声纳，L-3的MAPPS集成平台管理系统，Indra的Pegaso RESM电子截收系统，Sagem's Sigma 40XP惯性导航系统。

South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) has launched the first of three Type 209/1400 diesel-electric submarines (SSK) on order for the Indonesian Navy (Tentara Nasional Indonesia - Angkatan Laut, or TNI-AL).

The boat was launched on 24 March at DSME's Okpo shipyard in a ceremony attended by Indonesian defence minister Ryamizard Ryacudu and TNI-AL chief Admiral Ade Supandi. TNI-AL sources have confirmed to IHS Jane's that the submarine has been given the pennant number 403.

The vessel is part of a KRW1.3 trillion (USD1.1 billion) contract signed between DSME and the Indonesian Defence Ministry in December 2011. Under the contract the first and second vessels are to be built in South Korea, while the third boat will be produced at Indonesian state-owned shipbuilder PT PAL's premises in Surabaya in a technology transfer arrangement.

According to specifications provided by DSME the Indonesian Type 209, which displaces 1,400 tonnes dived, has a top speed of 21 kt and a maximum operating range of approximately 10,000 n miles at 10 kt while surfaced. The submarine has been designed for a range of missions, including anti-surface warfare (ASuW), anti-submarine warfare (ASW), mine laying, and special forces operations, said DSME in a statement on the launch.

The first boat will now undergo sea trials in South Korean waters and is currently scheduled for delivery by March 2017.

Work on the second vessel has begun and all three boats are expected to be delivered by the end of 2018.

South Korea's DSME signed a contract in 2011 that calls for the construction of three 1,400-ton submarines (in collaboration with local shipyard PT PAL) for the Indonesian Navy for a total of $1.1 billion. The contract marked Korea's largest single export defense contract and the first submarine export contract as well.

DSME is set to built the first two submarines, KRI Nagabanda (hull number 403) and KRI Trisula (404) in South Korea while PT PAL should built the third hull KRI Nagarangsang (405) in Indonesia. PT PAL could also build follow-on hulls in the future.

The first two submarines are expected to be delivered in 2017 and 2018. Delivery of the third unit is not clear yet.

According to DSME, the vessels will be of 61.3 meters in length, and will be capable of carrying a crew of 40 sailors. These submarines will be fully armed with eight weapon tubes able to discharge all kinds of torpedoes, mines, and guided missiles.

The submarines will be equipped with Indra's Pegaso RESM system and Aries low-probability of intercept radar, Atlas Electronic CSU 90 hull-mounted passive and active search-and-attack sonar and flank sonar arrays, L-3's MAPPS integrated platform management systems and Sagem's Sigma 40XP inertial navigation systems.
