In January 2012, when Rafale was declared the winner, its price was quoted between $60-65 million (Rs373-Rs400 crore). A top defence ministry official said the price of a fighter jet made by Dassault could now cost $120 million (Rs746 crore). The second bidder, Eurofighter, had quoted $80-85 million (Rs497-Rs528 crore).

The price hike would mean that the deal would cost India nothing less than $28-30 billion (Rs1.75 lakh crore-Rs1.86 lakh crore),” said an Indian Air Force (IAF) official, who is privy to discussions of the cost negotiation committee.


The defence ministry headed by AK Antony has developed cold feet after the cost doubled compared to the original estimate. With the general elections just months away, Antony is unsure about the fate of the deal, a defence ministry official said. “As the negotiations continue, the cost is spiralling out of hand. It is a major worry,” he said.


An IAF official said that in 2007, when the tender was floated, the cost of the programme was $12 billion (Rs42,000 crore). When the lowest bidder was declared in January 2012, the cost of the deal shot up to $18 billion (Rs90,000 crore).

Eighteen of the 126 planes will be purchased directly from Dassault, while Hindustan Aeronautics Limited will manufacture the other 108 under a licence, at an upcoming facility in Bangalore.

The IAF, which is fighting its depleting combat strength, was banking on Rafale as this was going to be the force’s leading fighter plane for the next four decades. “With chances of the MMRCA deal getting inked appearing dim, there seems to be no solution to the immediate problem of shrinking squadron numbers as existing aircraft are forced into retirement,” said another IAF official.

The air force is seeking to replace its ageing MiG-21s with a modern fighter and MMRCA fits between India’s high-end Sukhoi-30MKIs and its low-end Tejas LCA lightweight fighter. The IAF has a sanctioned strength of 45 fighter jet squadrons. However, it only has 30 squadrons operational as old aircraft have been retired.

An IAF FIGHTER pilot who brought a stricken Mig-21 Bison back to the base after his aircraft¡¯s systems failed by holding a torch in his mouth was awarded Shaurya Chakra on the eve of Republic Day.
He also managed to avoid another possible crash after his combat jet was hit by a bird in a separate incident.His professional handling of two grave emergency situations within a span of three months was hailed in the IAF circle as an act of gallantry.
Wing Commander Singh was flying a Mig-21 Bison to Halwara for a practice diversion night sortie on April 30 last year when the electric system of the aircraft failed.The cockpit lights faded slowly, making it difficult for him to see the instruments in the dark night.
He removed his mask to hold a torch in his mouth to keep an eye on the instruments.He lowered the undercarriage and flaps to take off position before the electric system failure would have jammed the controls. He flew with the help of only pressure instruments and the global position system and brought the aircraft down safely.
The officer was in the middle of another emergency situation three months later on July 29.This time he was the captain of Mig-21 T-69 trainer flying from the rear seat. The engine of the aircraft failed after a bird hit when he was coming for landing.
Wing Commander Singh managed an engine off glide to land the aircraft safely without any damage.The fighter pilot showed composure in emergency situation and has set an excellent professional example for others to emulate, said his award citation.
The two situations could have turned fatal for the pilot as the emergencies were grave.The pilot used his experience to handle the failures. The ageing Mig-21s have been in the news for years now for high accident rate.

其实中标的时候就有评论,签合同不会顺利,按照阿三的性格,拖黄了也有可能。
买的那个鱿鱼级潜艇,现在都还没下水呢。
这价格,首选F35吧,要不,买苏35也行,我们一起用,哈。

嘿嘿~Ni以为f-35就不会涨价啊。。看看美国开始研发f35开始到现在价格涨了多少了?那可是翻着倍来的,美军自己都吃不消了,更别说卖给3哥这冤大头了,那还不往死里宰!

看看Jas-39在国际市场上的销量就知道其是真有料,要知道军售尤其是战机更是和地缘政治关系极为密切,在美俄势力范围之外居然能销售好几国充分说明其实力值那个价,就象宝马M1虽是小车但是精品小车,不便宜。

美帝很厚道,同批同价,只要不转让技术生产,比如小鬼子非要生产,价格通常对各国都是一样的,棒子把波音当道具演戏,也没能砍下F35的价。。。

1.2亿美元,现在还买阵风,太不合算了,不如中印一起买苏35,与俄毛谈个大批/*发/*价。

有军事评论家说过在美俄笼罩下能卖出去的必定是同类的顶级水平,如德国的坦克瑞典的战机。我们的小龙也许定位错误想以价取胜,可是目前看走精品以质取胜路线更成功。

鮋鱼级实在没必要买,这是把自己的后勤往死里整啊,周边的安全环境用基洛级卓卓有余了。
