During the night of June 1 to June 2, 2004, the French defence procurement agency (DGA) and the French navy carried out a flight test of an M45 submarine-launched ballistic training missile. The missile was launched from a point south of Brittany, in the North Atlantic, and hit its target off French Guyana.
This firing is part of the test campaign n preparation for the commissioning of the “Le Vigilant” nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine.
Throughout the flight, DGA monitored and analyzed the missile’s performance, and tested several technological innovations which are part of the development program of the M51 missile, which will progressively replace the M45 beginning in 2010.
In addition to DGA and the French navy, the test involved other actors, including EADS Space Transportation (the missile’s prime contractor), DCN (submarine prime contractor) and the Atomic Energy Commission, prime contractor for the missile’s nuclear warheads.
The missile was monitored throughout its flight by DGA’s Centre d’Essais des Landes firing range and by the test and telemetry ship “Monge.” </P>

强烈希望我们在美国佬近日7艘航母在西太平洋向我国示威的时候进行类似的战略导弹试射，无论是海基还是路基，海基巨浪，路基东风，搓搓美国佬的士气。这点法国人做得对。
