英国广播公司报道，欧盟能源事务委员会发言人玛琳·霍尔茨纳(Marlene Holzner)澄清此前媒体关于该委员会负责人厄廷格(Guenther Oettinger)的日本将发生更大灾难的报道。
霍尔茨纳表示：“厄廷格只是想和大家分享他对日本核危机的关切，他被那些报道受灾民众和死难者的图片深深触动了。”
霍尔茨纳解释道：“因此，他的表述只是说，根据媒体报道的信息，看起来就眼下而言，在核电站中我们没有技术上的控制手段。”
