A new version of the F-15 Eagle combat aircraft, incorporating some stealth features, has been unveiled by Boeing Integrated Defense Systems.
Designated the F-15 Silent Eagle (F-15SE), the new aircraft features outward-canted tail fins (similar to the F/A-18 Hornet) and conformal fuel tanks (CFTs) that can alternatively be converted into internal weapon bays to reduce the aircraft's radar cross section (RCS).
Designed primarily for the international market, Boeing hopes that the new F-15SE will appeal to customers who were planning to procure the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) but are currently deterred by its rising costs and lack of flexibility, as well as international customers who are unable to procure the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor air superiority fighter, which is banned from being exported by US law.
"We have discussed this new concept with all of our current F-15 customers," Brad Jones, Boeing's F-15 Future Fighter Program manager, told Jane's . "All of them wanted a certain degree of stealth and increased survivability but all were concerned about the trade-offs in acquiring a fifth-generation stealth fighter."
The new F-15 features two CFTs that could be converted into internal weapon bays and store air-to-air missiles - such as the short-range AIM-9 Sidewinder and medium-range AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) – or air-to-ground munitions – such as Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs) or Small Diameter Bombs (SDBs).

It's still not quite a fifth-generation fighter, but it's not intended to be. For instance, the F-15SE is not going to slip stealthily into defended airspace and wipe out a surface-to-air missile battery. That's still the job of the all-aspect stealthy F-22 or B-2.
Boeing optimized the F-15SE to reduce the aircraft's head-on radar cross section. That's not going to fool a ground-based SAM radar, but it will make it harder for an enemy fighter entering the merge to lock-on to your aircraft with a radar-guided missile.
But the project raises a number of very interesting questions.
First, Boeing says the F-15SE can match the frontal-aspect stealth performance of the export version of the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. The precise level stealth allowed to be exported to foreign countries is still to be determined by the US authorities who govern technology transfer rules. Will international F-35 customers be disappointed if they find out a fourth-generation fighter can match their fight-generation fighter's head-on performance?
Second, Boeing says they're not offering the F-15SE to the US Air Force, but could the single-largest F-15 customer in the world be tempted? Obviously, the USAF is committed to buying a fifth-generation-only fleet of F-22s and F-35s, but if costs, schedule delays or performance problems start mounting, could the service be driven to "settle" for improved F-15es?

明显是爱好者做的模型，不过这个水平还是可以的，造假消息的的人就比较无聊了。

尤其是第一张和第二张的内置弹仓，从远处看模糊一片，近处看弹仓位置和机头明显不是一个质地的照片。

波音公司一直认为F-35的低可观测性能（前向）不会比F/A-18E/F第3批次性能标准高多少，这回又把这个评语用到F-15SE和F-35的对比了，呵呵

我觉得这个改进还是很有意义的，也有点恐怖的说:Q
原来的F-15超视距空战时的RCS无论如何都应该在几十平方米，现在估计在原来的应该在原来的1/10以下，对方雷达作用距离大概也就是原来的一半。此外，武器内置后战斗状态阻力更小，更能发挥出性能。
F-15本身就具有很强大的高空高速性能，就是说良好的超视距的底子。算上AESA和AIM-120D，几乎就算是在各个因素上都出类拔萃的了。但是原来还有唯一的短板，就是RCS太大，对方好远就可以看到，这样面对它超视距时才有的一搏。
把这唯一的短板去掉之后，这个新的F-15应该差不多具有仅次于F-22的超视距能力，我估计综合起来强于F-35，如果隐身上的差距可以被弥补的话。原来相对于台风（下一步的装AESA和流星的升级），我是不看好F-15的空战能力的，现在应该反过来了。总之给人的感觉是得说向F-22看齐，而不是向F-35或者台风看齐
